Rakaia Pony Club has a wonderful aray of facilities available to club members.

Somewhere to sit for HM lessons & a meeting place for lunch with basic kitchen facilities (oven, sink & urn) on site.

Bathroom faciilties in an attached lean-to.
Grounds:  Looking across the sand on the 60 x 60m Gill Kingsbury Dressage Arena towards the clubrooms, storage sheds and grass areas.

There is ample parking for floats & trucks of any size.

Our grounds are available for outsiders to use at a cost of $5.00 per horse on site and grounds must be booked prior to use.
A Show jump course is generally set up and available for training year round.
(more pictures coming soon)
A Derby/Cross Cross Country jump selection is also available to members in our grounds with jumps ranging in size from 55cm - 85cm. These include several drops, a water jump, tyres, logs, tabletops and many more. Great for younger riders or young horses to train over.
Cross Country Course:
Our Club is spoilt to also have our very own Cross Country Course which is dedicated to John Stubbs, a long time helper, supporter as well as past caretaker course planner & jump builder
.
Based on the banks of the Rakaia River, with wonderful views to the alps, this course hosted the Springston Trophy event in 2004
.
It is known for being a challanging but generally fair course. And has an excellent selection of jumps which include our very own Rakaia Salmon jumps sited near the water jump.

With plenty of space for parking, dressage arenas and show jumping as well, all easily acessible on the one site and for the most part easily viewable, this is a very popular course with competitors and supporters alike.

All club members have access to this great facility on a number of Rally and Training days throughout the year.

We do also have an annual Open Day down at the course, usually about a month after our One Day Event in July.  We also allow it to be used at other times througout the year by arrangement with the grounds person. There is a charge for this to cover maitenance costs.
Currently those charges are:
Rakaia Members $10.00 Adults, $5.00children, a minimum of 3 to open the gate.
Non-Members,   $10.00 per horse or pony on site (this includes those that come for the ride) and a minimum of 3 to open the gate.
